Advanced topics in Health Sciences I, II, III and IV: these are the core of our graduate program, and are intended to provide advanced training in a variety of current research areas.

Seminars in health Sciences: these courses hone the ability of our students to read and discuss the current primary scientific literature.

Career Development: these courses assist the student development of several key career skills: the ability to successfully communicate with students and other scientists, and the ability to successfully navigate ethical considerations unique to the research community.

Josep Villena - PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona, with postdoctoral training in France, the U.S., and the Scripps Research Institute. Since 2007, he has led the Metabolism and Obesity Laboratory at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute, studying mitochondrial biogenesis and metabolic diseases. Author of 43 articles, he supervises PhD and postdoctoral students and is a member of scientific committees.
